A number of artists present high-tech digital pictures?called vector art?at Salihara.
IN one corner of the gallery hang three pictures measuring 100 x 100 centimeters each. Each paper canvas portrays the characters of Balinese mythology: Barong, Human Character and Rangda. Each of them is focused on a face filling the canvas, except for the human picture in the form of a bust. Red color dominates these three pictures.
?The three figures represent evil, good and neutral,? said Mega, a French artist who has been living in Bali since 2008. These drawings constitute her response to the theme ?Honey and Poison? presented by Godot Guntoro and Dian Ina Mahendra, the curator of the exhibition taking place from last week to June 19 at Salihara Gallery, Pasar Minggu, Jakarta.
Mega, responsible for the artwork of the magazine Acclaim in Australia and New Zealand, completed her works using Adobe Illustrator CS5 image-creation software. Mega |
