TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: A day prior to Tuesday’s Constitutional Court ruling on Deputy Ministers positions, Deputy Justice Minister Denny Indrayana said that he would honor any decision issued by Indonesian courts.
“I am ready to honor the court’s decision. I take things easy. Just like Bob Marley’s song. No Wamen [deputy minister], no cry,” Denny told Tempo on Monday.
“If there are no more deputy minister positions, I shall head back to teaching at my former campus, Gadjah Mada University. I shall go and once again enjoy Yogyakarta.” The Constitutional Court on Tuesday declared deputy ministers positions as unconstitutional, after it accepted a request for a judicial review of the 2008 State Ministry Law. Having heard all arguments from both the government and the National Corruption Eradication Movement (GNPK) - the latter which filed for the review request - the court decided to partially accept a review of the law.
