Nearly 4 million travellers passed through Changi Airport last month |

SINGAPORE - Singapore's Changi Airport handled 8.4 per cent more passengers last month compared to the same month in the previous year, with 4.09 million travellers passing through the airport last month.
In tandem with the growth in passengers, flight movements at Changi also increased by 8 per cent.
In a statement, Changi Airport Group (CAG) said Asia continued to be a key growth driver for Changi Airport with double-digit increases registered for traffic to and from Northeast Asia, South Asia and the Middle East in May.
It added that year-to-date, passenger movements at Changi were up 12 per cent to 20.6 million.
Among them, Asian routes accounted for 80 per cent of all traffic.
On the cargo front, Changi Airport registered 152,900 tonnes of cargo last month, down 2.8 per cent on-year.
CAG said for the first five months of this year, airfreight tonnage at Changi Airport fell 1.3 per cent to 745,000 tonnes.
Currently, the Singapore Changi Airport serves 100 airlines operating more than 6,200 weekly flights connecting Singapore to 220 destinations in 60 countries.
