KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 — The licence for printing presses and permit for publications will no longer need to be renewed annually effective July 15.
Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (security) Datuk Alwi Ibrahim said the licence or permit, which expire after that date, would remain valid unless revoked by the government.
However, the licence or permit, which expired before the date, must be renewed, he said in a statement today.
New applications for the licence and permit remain unchanged.
Alwi said those who want to change the information in their licences and permits should notify the ministry.
The abolition of the need to renew the licence and permit is in line with the amendment to the Printing Presses and Publications Act 2012, he added.
